On-Campus Outreach

Center for Gifted Studies & Talent Development Psychoeducational Diagnostic Intervention Clinic
The center identifies, promotes, and develops giftedness.  This primarily occurs through the School Psychology Clinic and the Scholars Program.  The center offers courses and workshops, and conducts an annual conference.

The clinic provides psychological and educational services to the university and wider community.  This is accomplished through consultation, assessment, intervention, training, and research.

Counseling Practicum Clinic Reading Clinic

The clinic is a training and research facility that provides counseling services to the community.  Counseling may be delivered on an individual or group basis.

The dual purpose of the clinic is to provide literacy assessment and instruction for elementary and secondary students while providing opportunities for Ball State students to develop their knowledge and skills as teachers of reading and writing.

Diagnostic Learning Center TEACH Lab

This center offers psychoeducational evaluation services for children and adolescents suspected of having learning disabilities. A multidisciplinary model of assessment is utilized.

TEACH stands for Technological Education and Assessment for Children with Handicaps.  This lab is equipped with 12 computer workstations with various equipment and software adaptations.  It is a resource center that assists educators in assessing computing needs of children with special needs.

Neuropsychology Lab

The laboratory was established as a research and teaching facility.  The laboratory also serves the larger community by assessment of, and remedial planning for, people with neurological disorders.

 

Off-Campus Outreach

Apple Tree Child Development Center Distance Education

The center is a cooperative effort between the YMCA and the Department of Elementary Education. Its mission is to help children develop physically, cognitively, emotionally, creatively, and socially in a safe and healthy environment.

Through the School of Extended Education, higher education is more flexible and accessible for people who face the challenges of time, distance, and family and work responsibilities. 

Center for Economics Education Electronic Field Trips

The purpose of this center is to provide effective economic education in area schools, preparing young people for their own and the country's future.

These field trips are a dynamic combination of live, interactive broadcasts and online curriculum meeting national teaching standards for grades K-12.  They inspire children to explore new learning concepts and consider expanded career possibilities.

Center for Gifted Studies & Talent Development Indiana Education Project

The center provides an assessment, consultation, counseling, and advocacy service. It offers courses via IHETS and workshops throughout the state.

The project is dedicated to preparing pre-service and in-service teachers with a focus on raising student achievement and increasing professional accountability for student learning.

Center for Technology in Education Professional Development Schools

The mission of the Center is to promote innovation of computer technologies through teaching, research, policy, and outreach to P-12 schools through long-term partnership building.

The PDS Network is a collaborative planning partnership between professional education programs and P-12 schools for the professional development of teachers and the training of future educators.

Center for School Innovation Public School Study Councils

The center helps schools, communities, and administrators develop innovative, entrepreneurial approaches to K-12 education.

The fundamental purpose of the councils is to bring about the improvement of education in member school systems in the state of Indiana.

Child Care Collection Shared Information Services

The Child Care Collection serves as a resource for parents and professionals in the field of early child care and education.  These resources include videotapes, books, newspaper articles, and study guides.

The resource center serves as a clearinghouse to provide administrators, teachers, college and university personnel, and parents in Indiana with resources and information regarding gifted/talented education.
